Simple and quick to make sabzi
- 250 gms Cluster beans (kothavarangai or guar phalli) – cut into small and thin pieces
- 1 medium sized onion
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 dry red chilli – cut into two to three pieces
- 1 tbsp urad dal
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- 5 curry leaves
- 3 tsp cooking oil
- Boil the beans for 10-15 mins or pressure cook for 2 whistles. Drain out the water. Heat oil in a kadhai and temper mustard seeds and curry leaves. Fry urad dal and red chilli. Add onion and cook till it turns golden brown.
- Add cluster beans and mix turmeric powder. Add salt to taste. Add 2 tbsp water if it is too dry. Cook it for 10 mins. Make sure water dries once beans is cooked well. Serve with rasam rice or kara kuzhambu.
