Suji Halwa (Semolina Pudding) with the combo of chole and poori makes a complete breakfast. When i was very young and at the time of navrathri, my north indian neighbors used to invite all the nearby young girls for breakfast. They used to give this combination of breakfast. From then i have a special love for poori with halwa.
- 1 cup semolina (suji or rava)
- 500 ml lukewarm milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup ghee
- dry fruits to roast
- Dry roast the semolina and keep aside. Take a handi or non stick pan and add milk to it. Slowly add semolina and make sure it doesn’t form any lumps.
- Add one cup of sugar and mix everything well. Meanwhile, heat ghee in a small kadai and roast the dry fruits of your choice. Add the roasted dry fruits alone with ghee to the halwa. Mix everything well and cook till the milk is absorbed and ghee separates.
