Ingredients :
- 1 or 2 drumsticks
- 3 green brinjals
- small lemon sized tamarind ball – soaked in water for 30 mins
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 curry leaves stick
For Ground Paste :
- 4-5 dry red chilies
- 1/2 tsp peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 1/ cup grated coconut
Method :
- Prepare the ground paste adding little water. Heat oil in pressure cooker and temper mustard seeds. Add curry leaves and saute a while.
- Add chopped brinjal and drumstick. Fry for 2 mins. Add ground paste, tamarind water and salt to taste. Add turmeric powder and close the lid. Add more water water if needed.
- Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles and remove from the heat. Serve hot with steamed rice.
