Hare Chane ka Masala |
Ingredients :
- 1/2 cup Hare Chane (Green Chick Peas) – soaked over night in water
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- asofoetida – a pinch
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander
To Grind :
- 1/4 cup chopped coconut
- 6 dry red chilies
- 2 green chilies
- lemon sized tamarind ball
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
Method :
- Pressure cook channa with 1 cup water for 3-4 whistles. Remove from the heat and drain the water completely. Grind the above mentioned ingredients adding little water.
- Heat oil in a kadhai and temper mustard seeds. Add chopped onions and fry for 2 mins. Add cooked channa and saute a while.
- Add masala paste, turmeric powder, asofoetida and salt to taste. Add 3/4 cup water and cook it covered till the raw smell goes and masala becomes thick.
- Garnish with chopped coriander and remove from the heat. Serve hot with rice or roti.
