Tomato Halwa / Thakkali Halwa

Tomato Halwa / Thakkali Halwa, a rich dessert prepared from tomatoes and sugar & commonly served on the day of Ramadan by  Tamil Muslims. To make this halwa more healthy, replace sugar by jaggery. This recipe is also one among the series of products I shot for Ancient Cookware. The other recipes are Chettinadu Mutton Kuzhambu, Dindigul Chicken Biriyani,  Vegetable Dalcha, Hyderabadi Veg Dum Biryani, Village Style Chicken Curry & Mint Peanut Chutney. Those who wish to buy products from Ancient Cookware, let it be indian pots or any products from their store, can avail a discount of 5 % by using coupon code : Preeti. You need to use this code at the time of checkout.

This time we are here to celebrate b’day of our friend, sister and blogger Priya Suresh. I admire her cooking skills a lot. How she manages her kids, home and at the same time blog too 🙂 She is a best example of pakka Indian Women.
I feel very lucky to met her through this blogging world and she will be a good inspiration to future bloggers too. This time we planned to prepare selected color dessert. I chose red color. As Red stands for symbol of energy, strength and love. Everything fits for her. She is very energetic, full of strength and cares for you like a friend and sister.

Priya Akka, May your birthday be filled with many happy hours and your life with many happy birthdays.

Some of the other halwa recipes shared in my blog, Besan Halwa, Moong Dal Halwa, Beetroot Dates Halwa, Bread Halwa & Pumpkin Condensed Milk Halwa. If you try any of my recipes, do share your feedback with us.
