Aval Urundai / Poha Honey Ladoo, today we will see how to prepare simple poha honey ladoo without sugar and ghee. Diwali recipes are not complete without ladoo. I’m fond of ladoo and always try different variations. I have shared more than 25 varieties of ladoo.
Aval (Poha / Beaten Rice) along with the combination of jaggery and honey makes this delicious ladoo. I have used thin variety poha. Dry roast poha and grind to fine powder. Aval Ladoo are easy to prepare and hardly takes 15 minutes. Honey binds ladoo. I have used 4 tbsp of honey, you can reduce the quantity of honey and add 1 or 2 tbsp of warm ghee. Chopping nuts or dry fruits powder can be added for additional nutritional benefits.
I have used raw honey (from yelagiri hills). Jaggery can be replaced by sugar. The recipe is similar to Thinai Ladoo. This ladoo can stay well for 3-4 days if refrigerated. Some of the other aval based recipes shared in my blog, Aval Sugar Ladoo, Poha Chivda, Peppery Poha Upma and Aval Kesari. If you try any of my recipes, do share your feedback with us.
